Dental Annotation Specialist

Avanciers are seeking a licensed Dental Doctor (DDS/DMD) to support an AI data annotation project by reviewing and accurately annotating periapical dental X-rays. The selected candidate will help train and improve AI models by identifying dental anatomy, pathology, and restorations across approximately 5,000 dental images.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and annotate periapical dental X-rays according to established project guidelines.

• Identify and label teeth, tooth numbers, roots, root canals, and furcation areas.

• Annotate dental anatomy and pathology, including enamel, dentin, pulp, caries, CEJ, ABC, and apex.

• Identify and label restorations such as crowns, fillings, bridges, implants, and other dental work.

• Maintain a high level of accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail across all annotations.

• Follow standardized annotation guidelines and quality requirements.

• Work closely with project leads to address questions, clarify guidelines, and maintain consistency.

• Independently manage assigned annotation tasks while meeting project timelines and quality standards.

Required Qualifications

• DDS or DMD degree from an accredited dental program.

• Active U.S. dental license in good standing.

• Strong experience interpreting periapical and intraoral dental radiographs.

• Strong knowledge of dental anatomy, pathology, endodontics, and dental restorations.

• Excellent visual analysis and attention to detail.

• Ability to consistently apply detailed labeling and annotation guidelines.

• Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.

• Prior experience with dental, medical, image, or AI annotation tools is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with dental imaging or radiographic interpretation.

• Previous experience with AI/ML data annotation, medical image labeling, or clinical data projects.

• Familiarity with digital dental imaging and annotation platforms.
