Data Scientist

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Long Island City, NY that is seeking a Data Scientist with strong Machine Learning experience to support crew operations and real-time decision-making. This role focuses on optimizing crew availability, improving disruption response, and driving cost-efficient operational strategies through advanced analytics.

Key Responsibilities:
* Build predictive models to forecast crew availability and identify gaps
* Analyze disruptions (delays, cancellations, schedule changes) and their impact on crew operations
* Develop models to optimize crew reassignment and recovery strategies
* Evaluate cost drivers such as hotels, overtime, and repositioning
* Design analytics to support real-time operational decision-making
* Partner with cross-functional teams to improve response to disruptions

REQUIREMENTS:
* Strong experience with Machine Learning and data analysis
* Proficiency in Python, SQL, and modern data/ML tools
* Experience working with large, complex or real-time datasets
* Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and communication skills
* Experience in aviation, scheduling, or operations analytics
* Background in optimization, forecasting, or disruption modeling

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
