Job Description:

We are seeking experienced Oracle Database professionals to design, develop, administer, and maintain complex database systems. Successful candidates will be responsible for ensuring the performance, scalability, and integrity of our data platforms, working with both Oracle and NoSQL technologies to support critical business logic and data processing requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain data models for new and existing applications, ensuring scalability, flexibility, and integrity.

Perform database performance tuning and query optimizations to enhance system efficiency.

Ensure data quality standards are met through robust validation, transformation, and cleansing processes.

Provide database maintenance and support, including patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting production issues.

Monitor system health and implement proactive alerts and diagnostics for performance and capacity management.

Collaborate with development teams to ensure code quality and best practices in PL/SQL development.

Develop and maintain documentation related to data architecture, data flow, and database processes.

Lead the design and development of complex PL/SQL code, stored procedures, and overall data architecture.

Lead the administration and support strategy for Oracle databases, focusing on high availability, disaster recovery, and proactive monitoring.

Lead the evaluation and implementation of NoSQL database solutions, providing architectural guidance on their use cases.

Mentor junior and mid-level team members on database best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications

5+ years of experience in Oracle database development and administration, with significant experience in MongoDB or other NoSQL databases.

PL/SQL Proficiency in PL/SQL, SQL, Indexes, Triggers, Sequences, procedures, functions, and Oracle database internals.

Strong proficiency in PL/SQL, SQL, and Oracle database internals, with the ability to architect complex data processing solutions.

Data Modelling

Proven experience with data modelling (logical and physical), normalization, and schema design.

Expertise in data modelling for large-scale applications and experience leading schema design.

Performance Tuning Strong experience in performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies.

Expertise in advanced performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies, including proactive performance management.

Database Experience (Relational/NoSQL) Hands-on experience with relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).

Extensive hands-on experience with a wide range of relational and NoSQL databases, including architectural decisions on when to use each technology.

Database Monitoring & Tuning

Solid understanding of database monitoring tools and tuning methodologies. Strong, hands-on experience with a variety of database monitoring tools and tuning methodologies, including implementing and customizing monitoring solutions.

Data Quality Management

Experience in data quality management practices and tools.

Experience defining and implementing data quality frameworks and strategies.

Code Quality & DevOps

Exposure to code quality standards and tools for PL/SQL (e.g., TOAD, SQL Developer, SonarQube). Familiarity with DevOps practices and database CI/CD integration.

Experience establishing code quality standards and integrating them into CI/CD pipelines. Experience with database versioning and deployment automation (e.g., Liquibase).

Backup & Recovery

Knowledge of backup and recovery strategies, high availability, and disaster recovery planning.

Proven experience designing and implementing robust backup, recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery solutions for critical database systems.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in cloud-based databases (e.g., Oracle Cloud, AWS RDS, Azure SQL).

Exposure to ETL tools and data integration platforms.

Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) related to data management.
