Title: Senior Cloud Engineer
Location: Phoenix, AZ; Columbus, OH; Dallas, TX (Hybrid)
Position: Contract
We are seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer with 10+ years of experience to design, build, and operate enterprise grade cloud platforms. The role is hands on, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure and working knowledge of AWS, supporting scalable, secure, and highly available cloud solutions.
Required Skills & Experience
10+ years of IT experience, with 7+ years in cloud engineering roles
Proven experience supporting enterprise and production environments
Technical Skills
- Strong hands on experience with Microsoft Azure (primary)
- Working knowledge of AWS (EC2, S3, IAM, RDS, VPC)
- Azure services: Virtual Machines, App Services, AKS, Networking, Storage, Identity (Entra ID)
- Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates
- CI/CD: Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Git workflows
- Containers & orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes (AKS preferred)
- Scripting: PowerShell, Bash, or Python
- Monitoring & operations: Azure Monitor, Log Analytics (or equivalent)
Nice to Have
- Azure or AWS certifications
- Experience in regulated or large enterprise environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and support cloud infrastructure primarily on Azure, with some workloads on AWS.
- Build and manage cloud environments using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / Bicep / ARM).
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application deployments.
- Deploy and operate Azure services across compute, networking, storage, identity, and platform layers.
- Ensure cloud solutions meet security, compliance, availability, and performance standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud and infrastructure issues; perform root cause analysis.
- Optimize environments for cost, performance, and reliability using cloud native tools.
- Contribute to technical documentation, standards, and best practices.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to other engineers as a senior IC.
