Electrical Engineer | East Lansing, MI

Salary Range: $76,000 - $121,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Designs and implements electrical control systems for manufacturing equipment.
• Troubleshoots and resolves electrical issues in production machinery and facilities.
• Develops and maintains electrical schematics, PLC programs, and technical documentation.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams on new product introductions and process improvements.
• Ensures compliance with electrical safety standards and industry regulations.
• Specifies and procures electrical components, sensors, and instrumentation.
• Participates in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize electrical system performance and reliability.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in electrical design, testing, and troubleshooting within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, and industrial control systems.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical) for schematic design and panel layouts.
• Experience with power distribution systems, motor controls, and instrumentation.
• Familiarity with relevant safety standards and regulations (e.g., NEC, NFPA 70E).

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with robotics or automation systems.
• Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing principles.
• PLC programming experience (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley).
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., EtherNet/IP, PROFINET).
