Job Description:

To work on behalf of the project Owner as a Commissioning Manager on a portfolio of renewable energy (wind, solar, battery storage, etc.). This position is responsible for the execution of assigned Substation projects and teams as it relates to commissioning, start-up and operational turnover.

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for ensuring commissioning activities for assigned projects are performed with high quality and adhering to all safety policies.
• Responsible for coordination and management of, EPC contractor personnel, OEM start-up personnel, third party start up contractors, and operations personnel on site, as it relates to site commissioning and startup.
• Responsible for project reliability at operational turnover with plants exhibiting as little lost time as necessary in initial operation.
• Responsible for compliance with all project contractual documents, including Power Purchase Agreement and Large Generator Interconnect Agreement deliverables with the local utility
• Ensure proper interface is made with Transmission Operators and Independent Service Operators to ensure project energization dates are achieved.
• Management of Client's onsite commissioning personnel
• Interfaces with the project's designated safety, engineering, and quality control parties
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Preferred Background:

• Self starter with a high drive for quality, execution, and safety
• 5 years' experience in on-site project support for renewable power generation project construction start up and commissioning
• 3 years' experience minimum working for an EPC in renewable power generation project construction start up and commissioning
• Proven track record and ability to interact with engineering personnel on highly technical issues, and then also interact with construction personnel on constructability, schedule, and cost issues as well
• Proven track record and ability to multi-task and oversee multiple projects at once

Required Skillsets:

• Electrical construction and commissioning means and methods knowledge including NEC and NFPA
• Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) integration and troubleshooting
• E&I controls and instrumentation installation, startup and troubleshooting
• Protection and Controls implementation and troubleshooting
• Drawing review quality control inspection
• Progress reporting
• Computer skills Outlook, PDF edit Word, Excel, document control systems and PowerPoint
• Management of third parties and suppliers
• Management of direct report team members
• Schedule and planning understanding
