Job description

Safran is seeking an Industrial Project Engineer - Supplier Recovery to lead recovery initiatives with delinquent suppliers across North America. Acting as Safran's representative, you will ensure visibility into supplier Work in Progress (WIP), secure credible recovery ("get well") plans, and drive actions that improve supplier performance. This role requires extensive travel and direct engagement with supplier leadership and operational teams to adapt supplier capabilities to Safran's expectations, stabilize industrial processes, and sustain production rates critical to Safran's supply chain. When not at supplier sites, the role is based in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Candidate skills & requirements

Key Responsibilities
Supplier Recovery & Performance Management
Support suppliers to identify root causes analysis (8D, Pareto, VSM ...)
Develop, negotiate, and validate credible recovery plans with delinquent suppliers.
Reinforce visibility on WIP to ensure transparency of commitments and progress.
Drive actions that adapt supplier capabilities to Safran's expectations and ensure recovery milestones are achieved.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Partner with supplier management teams across Purchasing, Procurement, New Product Introduction (NPI), Quality, and Supplier Performance Management.
Ensure supplier capabilities are adapted to Safran's expectations to stabilize industrial processes and sustain required supply chain rates.
Supplier Management Team Updates
Provide structured updates to supplier leadership regarding recovery progress, risks, and required actions.
Ensure supplier leadership is fully engaged and accountable for corrective measures.
Facilitate joint review meetings to track progress and reinforce commitment to recovery plans.
Reporting & Communication
Own reporting responsibilities for supplier schedules, component and material coverage, and recovery plans.
Deliver concise updates to the GM of the Supply Chain Office and supplier management teams.
Document recovery progress, WIP visibility, risks, and mitigation strategies.
Relationship Building
Apply strong interpersonal and communication skills to establish trust based relationships with suppliers.
Lead and influence suppliers to improve processes and procedures
Serve as Safran's primary liaison and representative at supplier sites.
Industrial Process Oversight
Assess and understand constraints in manufacturing processes dedicated to aircraft parts.
Provide actionable insights to Safran management regarding supplier challenges and opportunities.
Highlight risks and weaknesses in current or future supplier operations.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Pareto analysis: Identify main topics impacting the performance
On Time Delivery Improvement: Measurable increase in supplier OTD performance.
WIP Visibility Compliance: Accuracy and timeliness of reporting supplier WIP.
Recovery Plan Credibility: Percentage of recovery plans validated and executed successfully.
Schedule & Coverage Reporting: Quality and consistency of reporting on schedules, component/material coverage, and recovery actions.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field.
Minimum 8 years of industrial production experience in mechanics (machining, welding, assembly, materials), including special processes.
Proven experience in industrial project management, preferably within aerospace or manufacturing.
Strong knowledge of supply chain dynamics and industrial processes for aircraft parts.
