Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager responsible for the coordination, planning, and organization of project activities. This role will interface with all areas affected by the project, including end users, vendors, and project staff, while ensuring compliance with established system design life cycle (SDLC) processes. The position involves managing project scope, budget, schedule, and vendor contracts for large-scale IT projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the coordination, planning, and organization of all project activities.
- Serve as the primary interface for end users, vendors, and internal project staff.
- Perform analysis, negotiation, and management of project scope, budget, and schedule.
- Manage vendor contracts, ensuring deliverables and work comply with contractual obligations.
- Proactively manage and track project risks, issues, and escalations.
- Provide regular project status reports to business sponsors and management.
- Ensure all project activities adhere to applicable system design life cycle (SDLC) processes.
- Lead project teams and facilitate meetings effectively across all organizational levels.
- Manage the implementation of federal and state regulation changes.
- Oversee multiple large-scale, enterprise-wide projects simultaneously.
Required Qualifications
Education: A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of recent, relevant work experience is required. PMP Certification is mandatory.
Experience: A minimum of 10 years of project management experience is required. This must include experience in the public health IT domain, managing large-scale, enterprise-wide projects, and leading project teams of various sizes. Candidates must have proven experience managing vendors and contracts, as well as project issues, scope, quality, and risks.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in the Microsoft Product Suite (Word, Excel, Project, Visio) is required. Expertise in standard project management tools and methodologies, particularly Microsoft Project and PMI methodologies, is essential.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with process improvement initiatives.
- Background in developing requests for proposal (RFP) or bids.
- Experience in healthcare research, planning, or financial management.
- Knowledge of healthcare policy interpretation, development, and implementation.
- Experience with the analysis of regulatory authority, legislative action, and CMS guidelines.
Compensation & Benefits
The anticipated pay range for this position is $40.00 to $52.00 per hour. Please note that the final pay rate will be determined by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience and qualifications.
