Summary

Overview:
Responsible at the proficient level for writing code and the teams' technical requirements gathering. Completes work following banking technology standards and contributes to the overall stability and resiliency of banking technology within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Work within the boundaries of the approved Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to solve business needs and minimize risks to the Bank through clean and resilient code with guidance as needed.
  • Provide feedback in pull requests to other team members.
  • Participate in code review by presenting and providing constructive feedback on code quality and improvements with team members.
  • Write organized, clean, efficient, and secure source code at proficient level in minimum of one programming language to be verified by a senior team member.
  • Utilize source control management tools to organize and maintain code with review from manager for structure and conflict resolution.
  • Jointly analyze technical and business requirements for completeness, accuracy, and feasibility with senior team members to ensure accurate scoping of work.
  • Collaborate, document, and communicate technical implementation details clearly and concisely within team on dependent requirements as needed.
  • Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company's Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
  • Promote an environment that supports a culture of belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
  • Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:
No supervisory responsibilities.

Education and Experience Required:
  • Associate's degree and a minimum of 3 years' systems analysis and/ or application development work experience OR Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 1 year systems analysis and/or application development work experience. In lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 5 years' education and/or relevant work experience, including a minimum of 1 year of systems analysis and/or application development work experience
  • Experience with HTML, Java Script, Angular
  • Professional proficiency in a minimum of 1 relevant programming language

Education and Experience Preferred:
  • Basic analytical skills specific to application development
  • Experience with ServiceNow, Rest Messages API, and JSON
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Ability to multitask on moderately complex projects
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills
