We are on the hunt for a dedicated and detail-oriented Project Accountant to join our dynamic team in the Construction industry. This is a high-impact role that requires the candidate to have a strong understanding of job costing, construction accounting, and year-end close. The successful candidate will be responsible for the financial management of multiple projects, providing essential financial information to project managers, and ensuring the company's financial policies and procedures are adhered to. The role demands an individual who is capable of wearing multiple hats and juggling various tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cash flows.
2. Maintain and control project accounting records, ensuring they are complete, accurate, and in compliance with accepted accounting principles and company procedures.
3. Conduct job costing analysis to aid in the financial planning and forecasting of projects.
4. Coordinate with project managers to ensure accurate and timely recording of project costs.
5. Manage the financial aspects of construction accounting, including cost allocation, capitalization, and depreciation.
6. Perform month-end closing procedures and provide critical inputs for year-end close.
7. Prepare and present financial reports to stakeholders, providing insights into project performance and financial status.
8. Collaborate with external auditors, providing necessary information and ensuring that audit activities are carried out smoothly.
9. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards across all projects.
10. Identify and suggest improvements for accounting processes and controls to increase efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years' experience in project accounting, preferably in the engineering or construction industry.
3. Strong knowledge and experience in job costing, construction accounting, and year-end close.
4. Professional certification such as CPA, CMA, or equivalent is preferred.
5. Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
6. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex financial data and design and produce effective management reports.
7. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
8. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
9. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information.
10. A self-starter with the ability to work independently, take initiative, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
11. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
