Genesis10 is currently seeking an Associate Director, Data Architecture & Platforms - Hybrid position with a Global Law Firm located in New York, NY. This is a direct hire opportunity.We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic leader to guide the evolution of our client's data ecosystem. This role is central to modernizing their data infrastructure, driving the design and delivery of scalable, cloud-based data platforms, and ensuring seamless integration across enterprise systems. The Associate Director will lead the data engineering, integration strategy, cloud data migration, and reporting capabilities.
Responsibilities:- Lead the architecture, development, and implementation of enterprise data lakehouse, ensuring reliable and high-quality data flows across systems
- Work closely with various departments to establish and enforce a centralized data dictionary, including clear data definitions, ownership, lineage, and quality standards
- Establish and enforce integration standards, frameworks, and best practices across hybrid (on-premise and cloud) environments
- Oversee data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration using modern tools within the Microsoft ecosystem
- Manage relationships with technology vendors and strategic partners and collaborate across departments to align priorities and drive delivery
- Define and execute the cloud data migration strategy, including prioritization of workloads and delivery of a structured Azure migration roadmap
- Assess current infrastructure and design scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud architecture aligned to business objectives
- Ensure compliance with security, governance, and regulatory requirements
- Build, mentor, and lead a team of data engineers and BI developers
- Oversee the delivery of enterprise reporting and analytics capabilities, ensuring timely access to accurate and actionable insights
- Partner with various departments to enable scalable self-service reporting and dashboarding solutions
- Set and enforce enterprise standards for reportingperformance, scalability, and governance
Requirements:- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field
- 10 years of experience in data, engineering, or technology roles, including at least 35 years in a team leadership capacity
- Proven track record delivering large-scale data integration and cloud migration programs, ideally within Microsoft Azure
- Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric or Databricks, Power BI or similar tech for analytics, reporting, and semantic models
- Good understanding of REST API, JSON, XML, and web services
- Strong understanding of SQL and ability to create performance optimized code
- Advanced scripting skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell)
- Demonstrated experience with LLM-enabled workflows and annotation pipelines
- Experience working with version control systems and solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines
- Strong expertise in data architecture, data modeling, and modern engineering practices
- Solid understanding of data governance, security, and regulatory requirements in enterprise environments
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
- Proven success in building and leading high-performing technical teams
- Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage ambiguity
- Passion for innovation and continuous improvement in data and technology
- Ability to work additional hours, as needed
