Job Title: Desktop Support Technician 3rd Shift
Location: Waterloo, IA
Duration: 24+ Months (Contract/Temp with the possibility of extension)
Shift: 3rd Shift 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM
Job Description:
We are seeking a hands-on IT Support Technician to provide onsite Tier 2 deskside support for our Waterloo location. This is an overnight role, with responsibilities spanning routine desktop support, ticket resolution, and equipment maintenance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, process-driven, and comfortable working independently.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide onsite deskside IT support to end users, including troubleshooting PCs, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
Perform routine IT tasks such as computer imaging, hardware replacement, printer maintenance, and asset disposal.
Manage and update tickets in ServiceNow and maintain accurate documentation.
Follow established KB articles and standard procedures for problem resolution.
Maintain IT assets and supplies, including inventory tracking and coordinating routine equipment maintenance.
Communicate effectively via email and document work clearly in logs, reports, and records.
Participate in weekend on-call rotation as needed.
Travel occasionally between nearby sites within the Waterloo area.
Qualifications / Requirements:
Degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience; entry level candidates considered.
1+ years of IT support experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of computing and networking fundamentals.
Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and intranet/internet applications.
Familiarity with IT security policies and best practices.
Ability to follow processes and troubleshoot issues independently.
Comfortable working overnight shifts and onsite in a manufacturing environment.
Safety footwear (metatarsals) required on the first day.
Preferred Skills:
ServiceNow or similar ITSM tool experience.
Desktop/laptop imaging and deployment experience.
Basic networking troubleshooting knowledge.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Customer-focused and detail-oriented.
