Position Overview
Client is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to maintain and expand a heterogeneous computing environment supporting advanced cyber system assessment research. This role supports Linux, Windows, macOS, VMware platforms, and specialized test equipment in air‑gapped and secure environments.
The Systems Administrator will act as a technology consultant to researchers and project teams, with a primary focus on Ubuntu Linux systems.
Background / Mission
The Cyber System Assessments Group provides independent cyber system evaluations for the U.S. Government, conducting cutting-edge research in cyber operations, red teaming, vulnerability discovery, reverse engineering, forensic analysis, and realistic high-fidelity cyber test environments.

Systems & Automation
- Scripting and task automation (server installation, patch management, configuration) – 6+ years
- Ubuntu Systems Administration – 6+ years
- Storage configuration for Linux systems (LVM, filesystems, RAID, encryption, SAN, NAS, NFS) – 6+ years
- DevSecOps environment support – 3+ years
Virtualization & Infrastructure
- Understanding of virtualization, networking, and storage concepts – 3+ years
- Virtualization and containerization (VMware, Docker, Kubernetes, Podman) – 3+ years
Networking
- Network switch configuration – 3+ years
- Layer 2 networking protocols (VLANs) – 3+ years
Hardware
- Intel / AMD platforms
- Dell servers – 3+ years

- Ansible – 6+ years
