We are hiring a C++ Test Engineer based in Cupertino, CA, to work on building high-performance testing frameworks for native C++ libraries. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy working at the systems level and are passionate about performance optimization, reliability, and scalability.
In this role, you will design and develop a comprehensive test framework from the ground up to ensure strong unit test coverage and robust validation of a native C++ library. You will create and execute performance benchmarks to measure key metrics such as startup latency, CPU utilization, memory usage, and inter-component latency on target hardware. Additionally, you will build long-duration soak testing suites to validate system stability, including memory leak detection, fault recovery scenarios (such as signal drops and simulated crashes), and power state transitions.
You will play a critical role in defining and validating SLAs for both end-to-end and component-level performance, ensuring systems meet strict reliability and efficiency requirements. The role also involves integrating testing frameworks into CI/CD pipelines and collaborating with development teams to continuously improve system performance and quality.
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of professional experience in C/C++ development with strong systems-level expertise. You should have hands-on experience designing test frameworks, building diagnostic tools, and working with memory profiling and performance benchmarking techniques. Strong knowledge of CPU, memory, and latency analysis, along with experience using Git and CI/CD tools, is essential.
Preferred candidates will have experience with soak and stability testing methodologies, exposure to SDK or library development, and scripting experience in Python or Bash for automation and reporting. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, along with attention to detail, are key to succeeding in this role.
