Business Systems Analyst

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in West Des Moines, IA that is looking for a senior-level Business Systems Analyst to help modernize and AI-enable their SDLC, with a heavy focus on requirements quality and process improvement.

Responsibilities:
* Assess and improve current BA and SDLC processes from requirements elicitation through Jira story creation
* Define and implement an AI-infused approach to requirements that produces clear, complete, implementation-ready inputs for AI coding agents
* Identify gaps, inconsistencies, cross-system dependencies, and non-functional requirements early to reduce downstream rework
* Partner closely with BSA leadership, IT, PMO, and engineering teams to drive adoption and measurable improvement

REQUIREMENTS:
* Senior BA skills: requirements elicitation, user stories, acceptance criteria, NFRs, personas, and impact analysis
* Systems thinking across complex, multi-system enterprise environments
* Experience translating ambiguous business needs into structured, technically feasible requirements
* Experience working in Agile teams and supporting backlog grooming, sprint planning, demos, and pilots
* Experience using AI tools in a practical, hands-on way to improve BA effectiveness and speed
* Comfortable working with AI tools like Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar
* Understands LLMs, prompt engineering concepts, AI risk and governance at a practical level
* Able to define AI use cases, success metrics, and feedback loops for continuous improvement

Nice to have:
* Experience implementing AI or automation in enterprise environments
* Familiarity with AWS AI services (Bedrock) or similar platforms
* Jira, Confluence, GitHub experience
* Financial services or insurance background
* Light project management experience across multiple concurrent initiatives

What success looks like:
* Measurable improvement in BA workflow quality, consistency, and cycle time
* High-quality requirements that reduce delivery thrash and rework
* Clear progress and coordination across multiple AI initiatives

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
