Job Title: Windows Server Engineer

Location--Jersey City, NJ (ONSITE)

Client -- HCL TECH

RATE -- $70 PER HOUR ON C2C OR $60 PER HOUR ON W2

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Windows Server DevOps Engineer to lead the design, automation, and modernization of enterprise infrastructure. This role requires deep expertise in Windows Server, Active Directory, and infrastructure automation, along with experience in hybrid cloud and virtualization environments.

You will play a critical role in driving DevOps adoption, automation, and scalable infrastructure solutions across global environments.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Architecture & Engineering

Design, deploy, and manage Windows Server environments at scale
Architect and maintain Active Directory (multi-site / multi-domain)
Manage DNS, DHCP, and IPAM services
Implement secure identity services (ADFS, AD CS, AD RMS)
Build hybrid infrastructure across VMware and AWS/Azure

Automation & DevOps

Develop advanced PowerShell scripts for automation
Build automated provisioning using Packer, MDT, and IaC frameworks
Drive DevOps practices (CI/CD, automation, standardization)
Automate infrastructure deployments including SQL Server environments

Platform Optimization

Perform performance tuning and capacity planning
Implement high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions
Continuously improve system performance and reliability

Monitoring & Tools

Manage System Center Suite (SCCM, SCOM)
Use tools like MDT, Orchestrator for workflow automation
Implement AD auditing tools like Varonis / Quest

Collaboration & Leadership

Partner with application and infrastructure teams
Mentor junior engineers and promote knowledge sharing
Ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards

Required Skills & Experience

8+ years of experience in Windows Server & Active Directory
Strong expertise in PowerShell scripting & automation
Hands-on with SCCM, SCOM, MDT, Orchestrator
Experience with DNS, DHCP, IPAM
Knowledge of ADFS, AD CS, ADRMS
Experience in VMware / Cisco UCS virtualization
Exposure to AWS / Azure hybrid cloud environments

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Packer / Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
Familiarity with Varonis / Quest AD tools
Understanding of networking fundamentals
Microsoft certifications (MCSE, etc.) preferred
