Senior PL/SQL Developer

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior PL/SQL Developer with 13+ years of experience in Oracle database development, PL/SQL programming, SQL optimization, ETL, data integration, and enterprise application support. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting complex database applications and will work closely with technical leads, architects, business analysts, and application development teams.

The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Oracle PL/SQL, complex SQL, stored procedures, packages, functions, triggers, performance tuning, ETL, and production support.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain complex Oracle PL/SQL applications.
• Develop highly efficient stored procedures, packages, functions, triggers, views, and complex SQL queries.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable database solutions.
• Perform advanced SQL and PL/SQL performance tuning.
• Analyze execution plans and optimize queries, indexes, joins, and database objects.
• Design and implement database structures, schemas, tables, views, indexes, and constraints.
• Develop and maintain ETL and data integration processes.
• Work with large-volume data and ensure high-performance data processing.
• Troubleshoot complex database and application issues in Development, QA, UAT, and Production environments.
• Perform root-cause analysis and implement permanent solutions for production issues.
• Participate in database migration, enhancement, modernization, and integration projects.
• Collaborate with application developers, architects, QA teams, Business Analysts, and DevOps teams.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding and database development standards.
• Prepare technical documentation, design specifications, and deployment procedures.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior and mid-level developers.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to estimation and technical planning.

Required Skills

• 13+ years of professional experience in Oracle PL/SQL development.
• Advanced knowledge of Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.
• Strong hands-on experience with:

  • Collections
  • Dynamic SQL
• Strong experience in SQL query optimization and database performance tuning.
• Experience with Oracle database design and data modeling.
• Strong knowledge of indexes, partitions, constraints, sequences, and database objects.
• Experience with ETL, data migration, and data integration.
• Experience with TOAD and/or Oracle SQL Developer.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale applications.
• Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.

Preferred Skills

• Oracle 11g/12c/19c or later.
• ETL tools such as Informatica, DataStage, or similar.
• Unix/Linux and Shell Scripting.
• Experience with COBOL/mainframe applications is a strong plus.
• Experience with Java or .NET application integration.
• Knowledge of Python or scripting automation.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or Oracle Cloud databases.
• Experience with database migration and modernization initiatives.

Senior-Level Responsibilities

• Take ownership of complex database development initiatives.
• Provide technical leadership for PL/SQL development activities.
• Review technical designs and recommend appropriate database solutions.
• Conduct code reviews and enforce development standards.
• Mentor junior and mid-level developers.
• Identify opportunities for performance, automation, and process improvements.
• Work directly with architects and technical leads on complex application/database solutions.
• Participate in production incident management and provide L2/L3 technical support.
• Ensure database solutions are scalable, secure, reliable, and maintainable.

Education

Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Master''s degree is a plus.
