Description

We are looking for a forward-thinking AI leader to establish and guide a new enterprise capability in Columbus, Ohio. This position offers the opportunity to set the vision, create the operating framework, and influence how artificial intelligence delivers measurable business impact across the organization. The ideal candidate combines strategic leadership with practical execution and can turn emerging technologies into scalable, durable solutions.

Responsibilities:

Identify promising use cases, oversee pilots, and advance successful concepts into production-ready business solutions.
Put governance structures, usage standards, and responsible AI practices in place to support consistent adoption.
Work closely with senior leaders and business partners to uncover opportunities and expand the practical use of AI across functions.
Build, mentor, and direct a multidisciplinary team capable of delivering technical and business-focused AI initiatives.
Define the operating model, core processes, and technology landscape needed to support an effective AI organization.
Assess new AI platforms, tools, and external partners to determine strategic fit and enterprise value.
Ensure AI programs deliver sustainable operational results rather than remaining limited to experimentation.

Requirements

Experience creating an AI function, center of excellence, or comparable capability from the ground up.

Strong background in AI strategy development, governance design, roadmap planning, and organizational adoption.

Proven ability to build, lead, and develop high-performing technical or cross-functional teams.

Solid understanding of generative AI, machine learning, data ecosystems, and enterprise-level AI applications.

Ability to connect technical possibilities with practical business outcomes and operational value.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including confidence working with executive leadership.

Experience in construction, manufacturing, engineering, industrial operations, mechanical contracting, or another complex operational industry is strongly preferred
