Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cosmos DB Developer to join our data engineering team. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain scalable, high-performance database solutions using Azure Cosmos DB. You will work closely with backend developers, data engineers, and cloud architects to ensure optimal data modeling, indexing, partition strategy, and system responsiveness across distributed enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities

Data Modeling & Architecture: Design and implement NoSQL document schemas, partitioning strategies, and indexing policies optimized for throughput (RUs) and low latency.
Database Development: Write, test, and optimize SQL API queries, stored procedures, triggers, and User-Defined Functions (UDFs) within Azure Cosmos DB.
Integration & Ingestion: Integrate Cosmos DB with application backend services (e.g., .NET/C#, Java, Node.js) and event streams (Azure Event Hubs, Kafka, or Change Feed).
Performance Tuning: Monitor Request Units (RU/s) consumption, optimize query execution, and fine-tune throughput to maintain cost efficiency and high reliability.
Security & Governance: Implement access control, role-based security (RBAC), encryption at rest/in transit, and compliance standards within the Azure environment.
Data Migration & ETL: Build robust data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Synapse, or Azure Functions to migrate data into Cosmos DB from legacy relational or NoSQL databases.
Maintenance & Support: Troubleshoot database performance issues, manage backups, enable geo-replication, and ensure high availability across multi-region deployments.
