This position is for a Database Developer focused on analyzing large volumes of application and system logs within Splunk. The role involves performing deep-dive investigations on log data to uncover meaningful patterns, correlations, and anomalies, ultimately deriving operational and business insights. The successful candidate will translate business requirements into intuitive visual representations and convert raw log data into actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze large volumes of application and system logs within Splunk to uncover meaningful patterns and anomalies.
- Perform deep-dive investigations on log data to derive operational and business insights.
- Identify key indicators, metrics, and signals relevant to use cases such as user activity and system events.
- Write and optimize complex SPL (Search Processing Language) queries to extract, transform, and aggregate log data.
- Design and develop interactive dashboards and visualizations in Splunk.
- Translate business requirements into intuitive visual representations including KPIs, trends, and drilldowns.
- Convert raw log data into actionable insights that support monitoring, reporting, and decision-making.
- Collaborate with business and technology teams to define metrics and success indicators.
- Continuously enhance insights based on evolving requirements and feedback.
- Structure and prepare curated datasets derived from Splunk searches for downstream consumption.
- Reduce manual effort by embedding intelligence into dashboards and data outputs.
Required Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with Splunk, including search, dashboards, and reporting.
- Advanced proficiency in SPL (Search Processing Language).
- Strong analytical thinking with the ability to interpret complex log data.
- Experience in building dashboards and data visualizations.
- Knowledge of event/log data structures and application behavior patterns.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in observability, monitoring, or analytics-driven automation use cases.
- Familiarity with data extraction techniques, such as scheduled searches or API-based outputs.
- Understanding of enterprise reporting and data consumption patterns.
