The Opportunity

StaffRight Associates is recruiting for a Senior Network Engineer on behalf of an elite engineering partner specializing in custom, software-defined intelligence frameworks. This on-site role focuses on engineering high-performance, fault-tolerant infrastructure supporting mission-essential national security initiatives, with positions available in McLean, Virginia. Our client boasts over four decades of zero-layoff stability and builds advanced geolocation, signals intelligence, and digital signal processing systems. As an integral part of a specialized technical group, you will tackle evolving transport layers, data centers, and multi-agency network requirements while stepping into vital leadership capacities.

What You'll Do

• Architect and deploy robust multi-agency network environments characterized by stringent fault-tolerance and minimal latency requirements.

• Design comprehensive infrastructure solutions spanning transport layers, data center frameworks, and rack-level operations.

• Troubleshoot complex connectivity challenges across global networks, ensuring seamless communication within highly secure government installations.

• Present cutting-edge infrastructure blueprints and technical methodologies directly to internal teams and high-level agency stakeholders.

• Drive the continuous optimization of critical intelligence networks, adapting quickly to expanding mission demands.

• Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional experts to maintain exceptional operational readiness, occasionally traveling domestically or internationally to support remote locations.

What You Bring

• Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance (Ability to obtain a Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph.

• Ten or more years of dedicated experience successfully designing and deploying massive global network infrastructures (moving beyond standard network operations or monitoring roles).

• Advanced proficiency configuring Juniper Networking Devices (highly preferred) or Cisco Networking Devices.

• Extensive mastery of Multicast Protocols, with the ability to articulate complex deployment histories.

• Deep expertise governing Routing Protocols including Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP), and Border Gateway Protocol (BGP).

• Hands-on capability managing Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN) alongside Virtual Local Area Networks (VLAN) and Spanning Tree Protocol (STP).

• Robust experience engineering Ethernet Virtual Private Networks (EVPN), encompassing Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS/VXLAN) and Ethernet Over BGP/VXLAN.

• Strong foundation in Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), Internet Protocol Version 4 (IPv4), User Datagram Protocol (UDP), Transport Layer Security (TLS), Virtual Private LAN Service (VPLS), and Generic Routing Encapsulation (GRE).

• Proven ability building Network Controlled Interfaces, including Firewalls and Access Control Lists (ACL).

• Active CompTIA Security+ Continuing Education (Sec+ CE) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Certification.

• Hands-on system administration knowledge for Linux Operating Systems and Berkeley Software Distribution (BSD) Systems.

• Scripting proficiency leveraging Bash Scripting or Python Programming.

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline (highly preferred) or equivalent professional background.

Compensation & Total Rewards

• Base salary ranging from $115,000 to $205,000 annually.
