StaffRight Associates is recruiting for a Senior Systems Engineer to operate on-site in McLean, Virginia. This mission-critical role focuses on modernizing edge processing capabilities and container orchestration frameworks for secure government environments. You will shape robust software pipelines that accelerate continuous delivery timelines while maintaining absolute security standards. What You'll Do

• Architect resilient backend frameworks and advanced mission-oriented infrastructure to support evolving operational demands.

• Implement modern deployment methodologies, spearheading the transition of legacy components into agile container ecosystems.

• Collaborate closely with development teams and agency stakeholders to guide agile execution and define critical sprint epics.

• Execute architecture trade studies alongside hands-on system demonstrations to systematically enhance overall platform reliability.

• Build rapid prototype utilities that streamline continuous integration workflows, cutting down on transition friction.

• Synthesize technical roadmaps, interface designs, and operational concepts into clear documentation via shared collaborative platforms.

What You Bring

• University undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, with an advanced Master's degree heavily preferred.

• Fifteen to twenty-five years of dedicated professional background in Technical Systems Engineering or Software Development.

• Minimum of five years actively contributing to programs within the intelligence sector.

• Active Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance, with a Counterintelligence (CI) polygraph strongly preferred.

• Extensive knowledge of Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) ecosystems to drive application rollouts across on-premises servers and cloud environments.

• Strong practical capabilities in Linux Systems Administration and overall operating system usage.

• Hands-on expertise utilizing Kubernetes for cluster orchestration, alongside Docker, Helm, and K9s for container management.

• In-depth understanding of DevSecOps methodologies, Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and automated testing frameworks.

• Skilled in applying Infrastructure As Code (IaC) solutions like Ansible, Terraform, and Puppet.

• Fluency in modern scripting languages, specifically Python, Bash, Visual Basic For Applications (VBA), or Go.

Compensation & Total Rewards

• Competitive annual base salary ranging from $165,000 to $230,000.
