Overview
The Workday Business Analyst (HR & Generalist) supports Workday HCM and HR-related processes while also functioning as a Business Analyst generalist within Information Technology. This role partners closely with HR and other business stakeholders to translate needs into clear requirements and deliver scalable, well-governed solutions.
The position emphasizes strong business analysis discipline, platform health, and cross-functional collaboration to support stable operations and continuous improvement.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide functional BA support for Workday HCM and related HR modules (e.g., Benefits, Compensation, Absence, Recruiting as applicable).
• Partner with HR stakeholders to analyze business processes and define requirements.
• Support Workday configuration changes, testing, release impact analysis, and production support.
• Elicit, document, and manage requirements for HR and other assigned initiatives.
• Produce BA deliverables such as user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flows.
• Collaborate with developers, configurators, and integration teams to ensure build-ready requirements.
• Support UAT, defect triage, and change delivery aligned with IT governance standards.
Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Human Resources, or a related field – required.
• 3–6 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Workday Analyst, or similar role.
• Hands-on experience supporting Workday HCM in a production environment.
• Solid understanding of HR business processes.
• Strong requirements elicitation and documentation skills.
• Experience working in an IT delivery model (Agile, hybrid, or SDLC).
• Strong communication and stakeholder partnership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Workday HCM certification (active or prior).
• CBAP, CCBA, or PMI-PBA certification.
• SHRM-CP / SHRM-SCP or PHR certification.
• Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
