Summary

Overview

Overview:

Halo Studios is shaping the future of the blockbuster Halo series with Unreal Engine. As part of Xbox Game Studios, the Halo franchise spans games, novels, comics, licensed collectibles, apparel, and more united by a vision of heroism, mystery, and wonder. With multiple projects underway, join our team as we forge the next generation of experiences in our award-winning sci-fi universe.

We are seeking a senior technical generalist to design, deliver, and maintain end-to-end intelligent systems that integrate directly into existing workflows. This role iterates closely with customers to understand real needs, validate solutions, and adapt quickly based on feedback. The scope spans full-stack engineering and strong cross-team partnership, with an emphasis on practical execution rather than specialization. Drawing on this breadth, the role defines and evolves a clear, actionable roadmap that balances quality, cost, impact, and operational constraints. That roadmap is carried through implementation and production readiness, with accountability for system health, observability, security, compliance, and sustained value over time.

The Team:

The Workflow Innovation team is responsible for building ethical, responsible intelligent workflow tools that extend the Halo teams' ability to explore, iterate, and coordinate more effectively, enabling creators to do what they do best: building incredible games.

Scope and Focus:

Creative Workflow Optimization
  • Design and deliver systems and frameworks that accelerate art, animation, narrative, and design workflows-empowering creators with reliable, high quality tooling while maintaining full creative control.

CI/CD and Workflow Architecture
  • Collaborate with infrastructure teams to build scalable solutions, improve job orchestration, and enhance diagnostics for better development velocity and reliability

Studio Workflow Intelligence
  • Craft user-facing systems and automation that simplify daily operations and help teams interact naturally with information through chat, search, and voice.

Data Integration & Platform Foundations
  • Evolve the underlying data platforms that unify information across tools and systems (e.g., Jira, Confluence, SharePoint) into a secure, governed, and queryable foundation.

Governance & Responsible Adoption
  • Collaborate with Infrastructure, Security, and Operations to ensure new technologies are designed and integrated responsibly and aligned with studio policies.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:
  • Design and deliver end-to-end AI-enabled systems that integrate into existing studio workflows.
  • Partner closely with customers and cross-discipline leaders to understand needs, validate direction through iteration, and ensure solutions align with how teams work in practice.
  • Partners with CI/CD, automation, infrastructure, and security teams to define and apply pragmatic technical standards that ensure systems are production-ready, reliable, performant, and effective at scale over time.
  • Define and evolve shared platforms, data foundations, and automation that unify information across tools, reduce repetitive effort, and improve day-to-day effectiveness.
  • Translate technical and customer insight into a clear, actionable roadmap, and carry that roadmap through implementation with accountability for outcomes and sustained value over time.
  • Evaluate, pilot, and responsibly adopt emerging technologies, moving them from experimentation into practical, supported production use where they deliver clear value.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Background in game development or creative technology, including familiarity with Unreal Engine pipelines, asset workflows, perforce automation, or similarly complex content production environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate studio needs into practical, scalable engineering solutions that deliver sustained value in production.
  • Demonstrated record of designing, integrating and delivering systems that improve workflows, pipelines, or tooling across multiple tools or services.
  • Experience providing technical leadership and direction while partnering closely with creative, technical, and operational teams to deliver production systems.
  • Experience driving modernization of widely used workflows or platforms, leveraging modern platform capabilities and balancing incremental delivery, production constraints, and cross-team adoption.
  • Experience integrating next-generation tooling or automation, including AI-assisted authoring, search, or diagnostic systems.
