Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior Java Developer for a 12+ month contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Jersey City, NJ or Charlotte, NC. This is a high-impact role supporting regulatory compliance and risk reduction by developing and maintaining Java-based Compliance and Surveillance applications. The ideal candidate will work on mission-critical surveillance systems, translating business requirements into technical solutions within a global, cross-functional Agile team.
Responsibilities: - Hands-on development and maintenance of Java based Compliance and Surveillance applications
- Design, enhance, and support systems enabling regulatory surveillance and monitoring
- Analyze and resolve complex technical issues using internal tools and frameworks
- Support release coordination, production readiness, and deployment activities
- Maintain and enhance existing platforms to meet evolving regulatory and compliance requirements
- Translate business and compliance requirements into well-defined technical solutions
- Create and maintain technical documentation (high level and low level)
- Participate in Agile / Scrum ceremonies and continuous improvement efforts
Requirements: - 5+ years of hands-on Core Java development
- Strong experience with Spring Framework and Java front-end technologies
- Experience with Java application servers (WebLogic, WebSphere, Tomcat)
- Proficiency with Maven, Git, Bitbucket
- Strong CI/CD pipeline implementation and maintenance experience
- 3+ years of experience with Oracle SQL, Unix/Linux shell scripting, and Autosys job scheduling
- Solid understanding of SDLC, production support, and release management
- Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong time management and task prioritization
- Ability to manage multiple deadline-driven, customer-sensitive tasks
- Proven ability to collaborate within global, cross-functional teams
Desired skills: - Prior experience with Compliance, Regulatory, or Trade Surveillance systems
- Exposure to financial services or capital markets technology
- Experience supporting production systems in enterprise environments
- Familiarity with audit response, regulatory change, and compliance-driven development
Pay range: $58.26 - $66.26 per hour
