Summary

BASIC FUNCTION: Responsible for navigating program participants through various county human services programs by conducting group orientations and individual assessment/evaluation sessions. Schedules, assesses, and assigns referred program participants based on assessment sessions, to appropriate activities and programs. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

WORK PERFORMED:

  1. Conducts regularly scheduled group orientations and individual detailed assessment sessions.
  2. Oversees and ensures proper completion of orientation and assessment paperwork.
  3. Schedules and conducts one-on-one assignment appointments for employability plans and assessment reports and assigns individuals to appropriate work activities.
  4. Verifies and documents all program participant activity in appropriate databases and paper files, including but not limited to attendance, participation, and future needs and goals.
  5. Provides ongoing counseling, advocacy, and liaison services to program participants.
  6. Completes all assignment paperwork and documentation for timely submission.
  7. Orients new program participants to placement program rules, regulations, and policies.
  8. Confers with program staff and the program participant to determine appropriate vocational goals.
  9. Conducts project presentations to potential local employment partners.
  10. Meets regularly with program participants to provide them with employment leads to assist with their own job search efforts.
  11. Coordinates and conducts Job Readiness Training groups.
  12. Completes all required documentation and expenditure reports and employment verification/follow-up in a timely manner.
  13. Partners with project staff to ensure the needs of all program participants assigned to Career Systems Development for services are met.
  14. Performs all other duties as required.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

(a) EQUIVALENT EDUCATION LEVEL REQUIRED

  • Bachelor's Degree.

(b) EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • One year of experience in personnel, guidance, industrial, sales, or social work. Master's degree in above-mentioned areas will be accepted in lieu of experience.

(c) KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

  • Social awareness, cooperation with a team, record keeping, community job market, computer literacy, oral and written communication skills, presentation/public speaking, and employment preparation skills.
