Position Description:
Join a dynamic organization as the Senior Director of Enterprise Architecture in Birmingham, AL, leading the strategic direction of enterprise technology to enable digital transformation and business success. This senior leadership role requires overseeing architecture frameworks, promoting modernization practices like cloud adoption and AI integration, and driving innovative solutions that align with corporate goals. Partner with executive teams to develop scalable, future-ready technology landscapes, manage vendor relationships, and mentor architectural teams. Key Responsibilities:

• Define and govern enterprise architecture strategy aligned with corporate objectives and digital transformation initiatives.
• Establish and maintain architecture principles, standards, and frameworks for applications, data, and infrastructure.
• Drive technology roadmaps ensuring alignment with business capabilities and IT solutions.
• Lead architecture reviews for major initiatives, guiding build vs. buy decisions, and ensuring compliance with standards.
• Collaborate with executives and business leaders as a trusted technology advisor.
• Promote modern architecture practices including cloud adoption, microservices, API-driven integration, and AI enablement.
• Oversee enterprise portfolio rationalization to reduce technical debt and optimize system landscapes.
• Manage vendor relationships and evaluate emerging technologies for strategic fit.
• Lead and mentor a team of enterprise and solution architects, fostering a high-performance environment.
• Support large-scale program delivery with architectural oversight and risk mitigation.

Top Requirements:

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master s preferred.
• 15+ years of progressive IT experience, with at least 7 years in enterprise architecture leadership.
• Proven experience with enterprise-scale architecture, technology strategy, and governance.
• Deep expertise in enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman) and methodologies.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms, integration patterns, and modern architecture paradigms.
• Familiarity with AI/ML technologies and their enterprise integration.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to translate strategic goals into architectural blueprints and manage organizational change.
