Position OverviewTEKsystems is seeking an experienced Lead Cable Technician to oversee low-voltage cabling installations on commercial construction projects throughout the Nashville area. This role involves supervising small crews, ensuring adherence to project specifications, and maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
Responsibilities- Lead, guide, and support small teams of technicians to ensure successful daily project execution.
- Install cable pathways, ladder racks, trays, and J-hooks in commercial construction settings.
- Pull, route, dress, and secure Cat6 and fiber optic cabling according to project requirements.
- Terminate jacks, faceplates, patch panels, and cable endpoints with accuracy and compliance to standards.
- Coordinate with onsite leads, project managers, and other trades to maintain workflow and resolve issues.
- Perform basic cable testing and troubleshooting to verify system functionality.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and related equipment safely and effectively.
- Travel to job sites across the Nashville metropolitan area.
Qualifications- Proven experience in low-voltage cabling, telecommunications, or related electrical systems.
- Demonstrated ability to lead small crews and manage daily task assignments.
- Strong knowledge of structured cabling practices, color codes, and industry standards.
- Ability to work in active new-construction environments.
- Reliable transportation and flexibility to report to the shop or directly to job sites.
- Strong communication skills, professionalism, and customer-service orientation.
- Commitment to safety and attention to detail.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
