Job TitleLead Alarm Installation Technician (Commercial)Job SummaryThe Lead Alarm Installation Technician is responsible for leading and executing commercial alarm system installations from project kickoff through final commissioning and turnover. This role serves as the on-site technical lead, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within scope, and to company and customer standards. The Lead Technician coordinates labor, materials, subcontractors, and communicates with project managers, clients, and inspectors while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Leadership & Execution- Lead commercial alarm installation projects from start to finish, including planning, installation, testing, and closeout
- Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for customers, general contractors, and inspectors
- Review project drawings, scopes of work, and specifications to ensure accurate installation
- Coordinate daily job activities, task sequencing, and manpower assignments
- Monitor job progress and proactively address scheduling, technical, or material issues
Installation & Technical Work- Install, program, test, and commission commercial alarm systems, including intrusion, fire (where applicable), access control, and related low-voltage systems
- Ensure all installations comply with applicable codes, standards, and company best practices
- Perform system troubleshooting and resolve technical challenges in the field
- Verify system functionality through final testing and customer demonstrations
Team Leadership & Training- Lead and mentor junior technicians and apprentices on job sites
- Enforce safety policies and maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment
- Provide on-the-job training, guidance, and quality checks to ensure consistent workmanship
Documentation & Closeout- Maintain accurate job documentation, including daily reports, as-builts, and punch lists
- Coordinate inspections and ensure deficiencies are resolved promptly
- Complete project closeout paperwork and assist with client handoff and training
Communication & Coordination- Work closely with project managers, service teams, and operations leadership
- Communicate status updates, risks, and change needs in a timely manner
- Support estimating or pre-job walkthroughs as needed
QualificationsRequired- 5+ years of commercial alarm or low-voltage installation experience
- Prior experience leading job sites or crews
- Strong knowledge of commercial alarm system installation practices and codes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and leadership abilities
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites
Preferred- Industry certifications (NICET, manufacturer certifications, or equivalent)
- Experience with access control, CCTV, or integrated security systems
- Experience working in occupied commercial environments
- OSHA safety training or equivalent
Physical & Work Requirements- Ability to work on ladders and lifts
- Ability to lift and carry equipment and tools
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Las Vegas, NV.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
