Position Overview

Senior Platform & DevOps Engineer to join an onsite team in Plano, TX supporting a large-scale, production workflow automation platform built for a major financial services organization.

The platform automates branch modernization and technology refresh workflows including router and switch upgrades, server refreshes, branch provisioning, and operational lifecycle tracking across thousands of locations nationwide. The application stack includes a React/TypeScript frontend, Python/FastAPI backend, CockroachDB, and Kubernetes-based production deployment on AWS EKS.

Key Responsibilities

• Own production stability and reliability for a Kubernetes-based distributed platform running on AWS EKS
• Build and maintain observability infrastructure including dashboards, alerting, and distributed tracing using Grafana, Prometheus, and Dynatrace
• Manage and optimize CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery across application services
• Perform production troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and incident response for platform and application-layer issues
• Design and execute load testing strategies to validate system performance under production-scale conditions
• Collaborate with application engineers on logging standards, metrics emission, and telemetry integration using the ELK stack
• Manage and tune Kubernetes workloads including resource allocation, autoscaling, and deployment health
• Partner with WWT architects, the WWT PM, and the client engineering team on platform roadmap and reliability initiatives
• Contribute to developer tooling and local environment setup to improve team velocity
• Produce and maintain clear infrastructure documentation, runbooks, and operational guides.

Required Qualifications

• Hands-on production experience with Kubernetes, including workload management, resource tuning, autoscaling, and troubleshooting on AWS EKS
• Strong observability and monitoring background using Grafana, Prometheus, and enterprise APM tools such as Dynatrace or Datadog
• Experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or equivalent platforms
• Proficiency with log aggregation and analysis using the ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana)
• Experience conducting load testing and performance analysis using tools such as k6, Locust, or JMeter
• Solid understanding of containerization with Docker and cloud-native deployment patterns
• Ability to troubleshoot across the full stack from infrastructure and networking to application behavior in a live production environment.
