Healthcare Tester, Remote, $40, Multi year long Project

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Healthcare Tester to join a long-term, multi-year project. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in healthcare applications, software testing, and healthcare industry workflows. The candidate will be responsible for developing and executing test scenarios, identifying defects, validating system functionality, and ensuring applications meet business and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze business and functional requirements and prepare detailed test scenarios and test cases.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and end-to-end testing of healthcare applications.
• Test healthcare workflows including claims, eligibility, enrollment, benefits, provider, member, and billing processes.
• Validate healthcare data and transactions across multiple systems.
• Perform testing of HIPAA/EDI transactions, including 837, 835, 834, 270/271, and 276/277, as applicable.
• Execute test cases and document test results, defects, and testing evidence.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and track defects using tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar defect-management tools.
• Work closely with Business Analysts, Developers, Product Owners, and other QA team members to resolve issues.
• Perform SQL queries to validate backend data and ensure data integrity.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Support test planning, estimation, and execution throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Conduct regression testing for application enhancements and production releases.
• Ensure testing activities comply with healthcare industry standards and applicable privacy/security requirements.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance/Testing.
• Strong experience testing Healthcare applications and systems.
• Hands-on experience with healthcare payer/provider workflows.
• Experience with claims processing, eligibility, enrollment, benefits, providers, and member data.
• Strong knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare EDI transactions.
• Experience with SQL/database testing.
• Experience with test management and defect-tracking tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, HP ALM, or similar.
• Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with healthcare payer systems such as Medicaid, Medicare, or Commercial Health Insurance.
• Experience testing APIs and web services.
• Knowledge of REST/SOAP API testing.
• Experience with automated testing tools such as Selenium, Postman, or similar.
• Experience working with large-scale healthcare applications and integrations.
• Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and healthcare data standards.
