Our client is seeking an Cisco Firepower Expert in Naperville, IL.

Role description

We is seeking a Senior Cisco Firepower Engineer to support testing, validation, and lab engineering efforts within their Naperville, IL lab location. This role requires deep hands-on experience with Cisco Firepower technologies and the ability to support trials, POCs, and documentation efforts.

Conduct trials, lab testing, and proof-of-concept (POC) work using Cisco Firepower solutions
Support lab engineering teams with configuration, troubleshooting, and system validations
Work onsite to assist with lab operations and project-driven technical tasks
Document test results, configurations, and engineering procedures
Provide expert-level troubleshooting and analysis of Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) and Firepower Management Center (FMC)
Collaborate closely with engineering leadership as direction is provided by the client
Travel occasionally if required (for non-local candidates)

Skills & Requirements

Senior-level experience as a network/security engineer
Strong, hands-on expertise with Cisco Firepower (FTD, FMC, IPS/IDS, policy creation, rule tuning, system administration)
Deep understanding of firewall technologies, network security, and enterprise networking protocols
Experience in test engineering, lab environments, and POC execution
Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently
Ability to work onsite in Naperville, IL (preferred)
