Summary

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Senior Financial Analyst for a Contract assignment with one of our premier Healthcare clients in Washington, DC .

Responsibilities :
  • Perform ad-hoc financial analyses, including proformas, long-term planning, and other assigned financial requests.
  • Evaluate capital requests and return on investment (ROI) and support service-line analytics.
  • Support annual budget preparation, including volume, revenue, and expense planning.
  • Perform monthly budget reconciliation and budget-to-actual variance analysis.
  • Conduct labor and productivity analyses to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for operational improvement.
  • Provide day-to-day financial support to leaders and staff, including support related to AP, payroll, and general financial operations.
  • Complete entity financial analyses, including month-end financial review and reconciliation.
  • Prepare and analyze financial and operational data to support key management initiatives and strategic decision-making.
  • Perform service-line, margin, KPI, productivity, and performance analyses.
  • Develop financial models and translate complex financial and operational data into actionable insights for leadership.
  • Use Power Query to gather, clean, transform, combine, and analyze financial and operational data.
  • Utilize Power BI to support reporting, dashboarding, data visualization, and financial/operational analysis as applicable.
  • Act as a liaison between Howard University Hospital (HUH), Howard University (HU), and FPP.
  • Partner with finance, accounting, clinical, operational, and leadership teams to investigate financial variances and support business decisions.
  • Produce high-quality financial analyses and deliverables within established deadlines.
  • Assume other duties and responsibilities that are related and appropriate to the position and department.
Required Skills :
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Business Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Candidates with 10-15 years of relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • Approximately 5 years of relevant financial management, financial analysis, accounting, or decision support experience preferred.
  • In-depth, hands-on Power Query experience - top technical priority
  • Hands-on Power BI experience strongly preferred
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including: PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUS, SUMIFS, Complex formulas, Financial modeling
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and other MS Office products
  • Experience with hospital or healthcare financial and operational analysis.
  • Experience managing or supporting the annual budgeting process, including volume, revenue, and expense.
  • Experience with labor/productivity analysis, financial variance analysis, forecasting, and performance reporting.
  • Experience supporting leadership with financial decision-making, business planning, and operational performance analysis.
  • Experience with month-end financial review and reconciliation.
  • Experience with financial modeling, proformas, ROI analysis, service-line analysis, margin analysis, and/or long-term planning is highly valued.
  • Strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Standards (GAAP)
  • Ability to perform highly technical financial analysis
  • Working knowledge of hospital and healthcare operations
  • Strong analytical ability and intellectual curiosity with the ability to investigate trends, variances, and underlying financial drivers

Preferred Skills :
  • MBA or master's degree preferred
  • CPA preferred, not required.
  • DataRails experience is a plus, not required
  • Lawson experience is a plus, not required
  • ERP implementation or conversion experience is a plus
  • Direct experience supporting an acute-care hospital environment is strongly preferred.
