IT Technician I

Title: Config Tech I 
Location: Paulsboro, NJ 08066
Duration: 3 Months (Temp to hire)
Shift 1: 6:30AM-2:30PM Mon - Fri However, there is a possibility that we may change to 5a-1p Mon – Fri. OT may be included at some point, but advance notice will be provided.
Shift 2: 12PM-8PM Mon – Fri. However, there is a possibility that we may change to 12:30p-8:30p Mon – Fri. OT may be included at some point, but advance notice will be provided.

Notes:

• What will the primary day-to-day responsibilities entail for this person? Configuration of tablets, laptops, and desktop computers. Other activities may include but are not limited to imaging and application installation.
• What are the TOP 2 required skills that candidates must have? IT support or hardware configuration experience, working knowledge of operating systems.
• Physical requirements include the ability to stand for extended periods during device setup and configuration tasks, and must be able to lift and move equipment weighing up to 30 lbs.
• Will there be OC (on call)? No
• Will there be shift differentials? No
• How many overall years of experience should this person have? Entry level – 3 years
• Do they need any specific certifications or education? No
• If contract to hire what is the conversion rate? $18.50 – candidates should be willing to accept this rate.
• How many miles per day will the contractor be driving? None

Job Description:

• Unpacks appropriate CPU (Central Processing Unit), hardware and software and then installs each at default or to custom specifications.
• Tests configured systems for appropriate functioning and troubleshoots for any errors found.
• Completes all required documentation of installation including a quality assurance sheet to ensure accurate billing with respect to warranty contract, proper processing of defective products and timely vendor returns and reimbursements.
• Follows customer personal computer system hardware and software specifications based on the configuration services being performed and the instructions supplied (on-line instructions, config. sheets).
• Complies with departmental training certification requirements based on config, level by job function, i.e. Config. Level I, II, III.
• Troubleshoots malfunctioning units using efficient problem-solving techniques and departmental procedures
• Researches hardware and software literature to keep abreast on new product/service developments and announcements.
• Works with Lead Technicians on difficult to solve problems or configurations.
• Requires Entry level - 3 years'' experience.
