Summary

Position: Electrical Engineer - Hardware Design (Contract)


Location: Valencia, CA (Hybrid: 3 days onsite / 2 days remote)


Pay: $74/hour

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to support neuromodulation hardware R&D. This role focuses on designing, testing, and optimizing electronic systems used in advanced medical device technologies. You'll work across the full product lifecycle-from concept through commercialization-while collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Design and analyze analog and digital circuits for embedded medical systems.

  • Develop and maintain engineering documentation (schematics, BOMs, requirements, drawings).

  • Perform component-level testing and troubleshooting using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.).

  • Lead and participate in design reviews and risk management activities.

  • Troubleshoot software-controlled SMT circuit boards and resolve performance issues.

  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, regulatory, and manufacturing teams to optimize design, cost, and yield.

  • Develop and execute test protocols, validation activities, and technical reports.

  • Support and mentor technicians and junior team members.


Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering and product development.

  • Strong background in analog and digital circuit design and analysis.

  • Experience with electronic test equipment and hands-on lab work.

  • Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB design/review tools.

  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly.

  • Strong collaboration skills in cross-functional team environments.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience with Altium Designer for PCB design.

  • Background in regulated industries (medical devices preferred).

  • Knowledge of FDA quality systems, ISO standards (e.g., ISO 14708, EN 60601).

  • Familiarity with embedded systems or firmware development.

  • Experience with RF design (low GHz range).
