Position: Electrical Engineer - Hardware Design (Contract)Location: Valencia, CA (Hybrid: 3 days onsite / 2 days remote)
Pay: $74/hour
We are seeking a highly skilled
Senior Electrical Engineer to support
neuromodulation hardware R&D. This role focuses on
designing, testing, and optimizing electronic systems used in advanced medical device technologies. You'll work across the full product lifecycle-from concept through commercialization-while collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and analyze analog and digital circuits for embedded medical systems.
- Develop and maintain engineering documentation (schematics, BOMs, requirements, drawings).
- Perform component-level testing and troubleshooting using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.).
- Lead and participate in design reviews and risk management activities.
- Troubleshoot software-controlled SMT circuit boards and resolve performance issues.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, regulatory, and manufacturing teams to optimize design, cost, and yield.
- Develop and execute test protocols, validation activities, and technical reports.
- Support and mentor technicians and junior team members.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering and product development.
- Strong background in analog and digital circuit design and analysis.
- Experience with electronic test equipment and hands-on lab work.
- Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB design/review tools.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
- Strong collaboration skills in cross-functional team environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Altium Designer for PCB design.
- Background in regulated industries (medical devices preferred).
- Knowledge of FDA quality systems, ISO standards (e.g., ISO 14708, EN 60601).
- Familiarity with embedded systems or firmware development.
- Experience with RF design (low GHz range).
