Role Overview

·        The Senior AWS Data Architect is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and governance of enterprise-grade data solutions on AWS.

·        This role combines strategic vision with hands-on technical expertise, ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performance architectures that enable advanced analytics, AI/ML workloads, and business intelligence.

Key Responsibilities

·        Data Architecture & Strategy Define and execute enterprise data architecture strategy on AWS.

·        Establish standards for data lakes, warehouses, and streaming analytics.

·        Lead modernization roadmaps to migrate legacy systems into cloud-native AWS solutions.

·        Solution Design & Implementation Architect and implement Lakehouse/Medallion architectures integrating AWS services with Databricks, Snowflake, or similar platforms.

·        Design secure, scalable, and performant data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and governance.

·        Collaboration & Leadership Partner with engineering, analytics, and business teams to align data solutions with organizational goals.

·        Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data engineers and analysts. Act as a thought leader in data-driven decision-making.

·        Governance & Compliance Implement data governance frameworks ensuring data quality, lineage, and security. Ensure compliance with industry regulations (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.).

Required Skills & Competencies

·        Technical Expertise Strong proficiency in AWS services: Redshift, Glue, Athena, EMR, S3, Lambda, Kinesis. Hands-on experience with Python, SQL, and data modeling. Familiarity with Databricks, Snowflake, Dremio, Atlan for advanced analytics.

·        Architecture & Design Proven ability to design scalable, secure, and cost-optimized cloud data solutions.

·        Experience in data lakehouse architectures and streaming data platforms.

·        Leadership & Communication Strong stakeholder management and ability to translate technical concepts into business outcomes.

·        Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Qualifications Education:

·        Bachelor’s/master’s in computer science, Information Systems, or related field.

·        Experience: 8–12+ years in data architecture, with at least 5 years on AWS cloud platforms.

·        Certifications (Preferred): AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty, AWS Solutions Architect – Professional.
