The Business Data Analyst will support enterprise Risk Data Services (RDS) by enabling compliant, accurate, and well-governed data onboarding and data control processes. This role focuses on data lifecycle oversight, risk and regulatory awareness, and data quality controls. The analyst serves as a key liaison between business, technology, and data teams, ensuring requests are properly defined, data flows are understood, and controls are functioning as intended.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Risk Data Services (RDS) solutions, including onboarding of new data sources, metadata, and tenants.
- Partner with stakeholders to intake, refine, and validate data onboarding requests.
- Execute and monitor data control framework activities, ensuring data quality, completeness, and accuracy.
- Perform root cause analysis for data issues and collaborate on remediation.
- Understand and document source-to-target data flows and dependencies.
- Serve as a translator between business and technology teams.
- Develop and maintain basic reporting and dashboards using Power BI.
- Support internal workflow and process enhancements using Power Apps.
- Read, write, and interpret SQL to validate data and support analysis.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation or AI-aware solutions.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience in data analysis, data operations, or a risk data role. Proven experience working in environments with high accountability and ownership is necessary.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL for reading, writing, and validating queries. Experience with Power BI for dashboard creation, Power Apps for supporting workflow applications, and advanced Excel functions for analysis and reconciliation.
Knowledge: A strong understanding of data structures, data flows, risk management concepts, and data governance and data control frameworks is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in financial services or other regulated environments.
- Familiarity with metadata management, data onboarding, or data quality tools.
- Exposure to automation, AI, or Copilot-based solutions.
- Experience with cross-functional collaboration between business and technology teams.
Compensation & Benefits
The anticipated pay range for this position is $53.00/hr to $57.00/hr. A comprehensive benefits package is available to eligible employees.
