The Business Data Analyst will support enterprise Risk Data Services (RDS) by enabling compliant, accurate, and well-governed data onboarding and data control processes. This role focuses on data lifecycle oversight, risk and regulatory awareness, metadata onboarding, and data quality controls. The analyst serves as a key liaison between business, technology, and data teams, ensuring requests are properly defined and data flows are understood end-to-end.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Risk Data Services (RDS) solutions, including onboarding of new data sources, metadata, and tenants.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to intake, refine, and validate onboarding requests.
- Execute and monitor data control framework activities, primarily focused on customer-level data controls.
- Perform root cause analysis for data issues and collaborate on remediation.
- Work closely with metadata and data simulation teams to ensure requested data is correctly processed and aligned with source-to-target definitions.
- Serve as a translator between business and technology teams, remaining business-focused.
- Develop and maintain basic reporting and dashboards using Power BI and support internal workflow enhancements using Power Apps.
- Read, write, and interpret SQL to validate data and support analysis.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience in data analysis, data operations, risk data, or a related role.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with SQL for writing and validating queries, Power BI for dashboard creation, Power Apps for supporting lightweight applications, and advanced Excel for analysis and reconciliation.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of data structures, data flows, risk management concepts, and data governance and data control frameworks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in regulated environments (risk, compliance, data governance) is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with metadata management, data onboarding, or data quality tools.
- Experience working cross-functionally between business and technology teams.
- Exposure to automation or AI-based solutions for process improvement.
- Financial services industry experience.
Compensation & Benefits
The pay rate for this position is $53.00/hr to $57.00/hr. This position is a contract role with the potential for extension.
