Description:
About the Role

This role supports the development of complex system architectures across the full product lifecycle using model-based systems engineering approaches. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to translate customer needs into detailed system requirements and specifications. The position involves hands-on systems analysis, trade studies, and architecture development in a mission-critical environment.

Key Responsibilities

Perform system engineering activities including technical planning, integration, verification, and validation
Develop and manage system requirements across the full lifecycle from concept through disposal
Translate customer and stakeholder requirements into system, hardware, and software specifications
Conduct functional analysis, timeline analysis, and detailed trade studies
Develop and maintain system architectures using model-based systems engineering tools
Support cost, risk, supportability, and effectiveness analyses
Define and manage system interfaces and requirement allocations
Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering and program teams
Prepare and deliver technical documentation and presentations to stakeholders
Ensure solutions align with technical, schedule, and cost constraints

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 5+ years of relevant experience, or

Master's degree with 3+ years of experience, or
PhD with 1+ year of experience

Hands-on experience in systems engineering
Experience with system requirements development, management, and analysis
Experience with model-based systems engineering or software-aided design tools
Strong technical documentation and written communication skills
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional engineering teams
Ability to meet program security and compliance requirements

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Computer Engineering
Experience with MBSE tools such as Cameo, MagicDraw, Rhapsody, or Enterprise Architect
Experience working on military, aerospace, or spacecraft systems
Experience supporting large, complex system development programs
Background in system architecture development, CONOPS, or MBSE frameworks
Experience developing ICDs, IRSs, and IDDs
Familiarity with Agile Systems Engineering
Experience with SysML or UPDM modeling languages
Knowledge of DoDAF, UAF, or similar architecture frameworks
Experience with technical cost or account management
Systems engineering certifications or professional society participation
