Overview We are seeking a highly skilled
Electromechanical Technician who can bridge
electrical engineering (RF/microwave signals) with
mechanical systems (vacuum and cryogenics). This role is focused on building and maintaining the specialized infrastructure that supports advanced chip development-specifically the
cryogenic refrigerators and
precision wiring systems.
This is a
hands-on hardware role, not a theoretical physics position. The ideal candidate will bring practical expertise in RF/microwave signals and mechanical systems such as vacuum and cryogenics, with experience working on delicate, custom-built hardware.
Key Responsibilities - RF & Electrical Systems
- Design, test, and troubleshoot RF/microwave-scale signals (GHz range).
- Work with attenuators, amplifiers, and filters for high-frequency applications.
- Perform diagnostics using network analyzers, oscilloscopes, and multimeters.
- Mechanical & Cryogenic Systems
- Assemble and maintain vacuum systems and cryogenic systems.
- Support installation and operation of dilution refrigerators.
- Handle precision mechanical assembly including gas connectors and wiring layouts.
- Tooling & Equipment
- Operate soldering stations and hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers).
- Conduct diagnostics with advanced instrumentation (network analyzers - critical).
- Maintain inventory and documentation using spreadsheets.
Qualifications - Required
- Strong background in RF/microwave engineering and diagnostics
- Proficiency with network analyzers, oscilloscopes, and soldering tools
