Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented NOC Technician to join our team in East Lansing, Michigan. In this role, you will monitor and maintain network infrastructure, respond to incidents, and ensure optimal performance across all systems. Responsibilities:
Monitor the performance and health of routers, switches, firewalls, servers, and other network devices using advanced monitoring tools.
Respond promptly to network incidents, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions within established protocols.
Manage the lifecycle of network incidents, including documentation, triage, and escalation when necessary.
Configure and maintain network devices, including applying updates and patches in line with change management policies.
Assist with the setup and testing of new network deployments based on engineering specifications.
Analyze network performance trends, identify potential bottlenecks, and share findings with the engineering team.
Maintain accurate records of network changes, configurations, and incidents for reporting purposes.
Support the administration and maintenance of Linux and Microsoft back-office systems, including Office 365 and Active Directory.
Collaborate with internal teams to resolve service-impacting issues and improve network efficiency.
Provide guidance and support to Tier 1 staff for network-related queries and escalations.
Requirements
Proven experience in network operations and monitoring, with a focus on troubleshooting and incident management.
Proficiency in using network monitoring tools and technologies, such as WAP and WPAN.
Strong knowledge of Linux systems, including Apache and DNS, as well as Microsoft Office 365 and Active Directory.
Familiarity with cable assemblies and hardware configurations.
Ability to analyze network performance data and identify potential areas for improvement.
Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members and stakeholders.
Strong organizational skills to maintain detailed records and manage multiple tasks.
