IT Project & Change Manager
Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid schedule; 4 days per week onsite)

Duration: 12+ Months
Role Type: W2 Contract Engagement

Role Summary:
The IT Project & Change Manager is responsible for leading cross-functional IT initiatives by developing and executing comprehensive project plans, communication strategies, and structured change management approaches. Operating within a renewable energy environment, this role ensures that project execution, change management efforts, and transition strategies for platforms such as Hartigen PowerOptix, NetSuite, ETRM, Strategy, and Aveva PI are effectively delivered, aligned with business goals, and supportive of the company s mission to provide sustainable energy solutions.

Responsibilities:


  • Lead end?to?end project management and change management for IT initiatives and M&A project, including planning, execution, integration roadmap development, and cross?system consolidation, while driving all related change management and communication activities.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute detailed project plans, ensuring alignment with timelines, budgets, scope, resources, and quality standards.
  • Partner with IT project teams, integration teams, and business units (operations, trading, finance, sustainability) to ensure alignment on project objectives and provide clear, timely, and consistent communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead change management and communication to support the IT department, including developing communication plans, preparing stakeholders for changes, coordinating training, and ensuring clear, consistent messaging.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and engagement, identifying key stakeholder groups, assessing their needs and concerns, and ensuring appropriate involvement in decision-making, communications, and readiness activities.
  • Produce user?centric communication materials, such as newsletters, intranet updates, executive briefings, project status reports, and job aids for both technical and non?technical audiences.
  • Support incident, outage, and transition communications, ensuring timely updates aligned with cybersecurity, compliance, and business continuity requirements.

Requirements:


  • Proven experience as a Project and/or Change Manager, specifically in operational systems, M&A, with a focus on generation operational systems.
  • Capable of managing time effectively while working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and being able to work effectively in ambiguous or changing situations.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems, develop innovative solutions, and drive successful project outcomes.
  • Ability to identify problems and deal with situations and issues proactively.
  • Demonstrate a critical and creative mindset with all new requests received from stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally and affectively with executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software (MS Project, Jira).

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience or knowledge of generation operational systems, to include Netsuite, Aveva PI, GE EMS, MAXIMO, EZ MAX, MV 90, VT SCADA, Tagspro, and HSSE systems.
  • Knowledge or familiarity of ISO/RTO operations and compliance requirements.
  • Strong understanding of renewable generation principles, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Bachelor s degree in project management, or lesser degree and 6+ years of experience in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or a related field.
  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP).
