Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Network Software Test Engineer to support network software validation, automation, and system-level testing. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with L2/L3 networking protocols, SONiC, Python automation, and network test frameworks.

You will work on developing and maintaining test environments, building automation frameworks, validating networking features, benchmarking network performance, and troubleshooting complex networking issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, enhance, and maintain automated test frameworks for network software and systems.
  • Perform functional, system, integration, and performance testing of networking solutions.
  • Work hands-on with L2/L3 networking protocols and troubleshoot complex networking issues.
  • Develop Python-based automation scripts and test utilities.
  • Build and maintain network testing environments and validation infrastructure.
  • Work with PyTest or similar open-source test automation frameworks.
  • Test and validate networking technologies including BGP, ECMP, VXLAN, and EVPN.
  • Work with SONiC (Software for Open Networking in the Cloud) and network operating systems.
  • Develop benchmarking tools and define metrics for network performance analysis.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and debug issues across networking systems and software.
  • Collaborate with customers and internal engineering teams to understand requirements and resolve technical issues.
  • Participate in technical discussions and contribute to engineering solutions.
  • Document test results, issues, debugging findings, and performance metrics.
  • Share technical knowledge and contribute to improving team-wide testing and validation practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM with 7+ years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 4+ years, or PhD with 1+ years.
  • 3+ years of hands-on Python automation/scripting experience.
  • 2+ years of experience configuring, testing, debugging, or validating networking systems.
  • Strong experience with L2/L3 networking protocols.
  • Hands-on experience with BGP, ECMP, VXLAN, and EVPN.
  • Experience with PyTest or another open-source QA/test automation framework.
  • Strong network troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Hands-on SONiC experience is required for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with network test frameworks and traffic generators.
  • Experience with commercial or open-source traffic-generation tools.
  • Customer-facing technical experience.
  • Experience leading technical projects or teams.
  • Experience with network operating systems, particularly SONiC.
  • Knowledge of RDMA and HPC networking.
  • Understanding of RoCE and InfiniBand.
  • Experience with network performance benchmarking and characterization.
