The Judge Group is seeking a
Senior C++ Software Engineer to join a high-performing engineering organization focused on building and supporting large-scale distributed systems. This role is ideal for an experienced software engineer who thrives in backend environments, enjoys solving complex technical challenges, and has hands-on experience developing production-grade systems at scale.
As a Senior Engineer, you will design, develop, optimize, and support distributed services that process high volumes of data in mission-critical environments. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and high-performing software solutions.
What You'll Do- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend applications using C++
- Build and support distributed systems operating in large-scale production environments
- Participate in architecture discussions and technical design reviews
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues
- Optimize system performance, scalability, reliability, and availability
- Collaborate with Product, QA, Operations, and Engineering teams throughout the software development lifecycle
- Contribute to code reviews, testing strategies, and engineering best practices
- Develop technical documentation and support system modernization initiatives
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- 4+ years of software engineering experience
- Strong hands-on experience with C++ development in production environments
- Experience developing backend or distributed systems
- Experience working within Linux or Unix-based environments
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles
- Experience troubleshooting, debugging, and supporting production systems
- Knowledge of database-backed applications and system performance optimization
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications- Experience building high-concurrency, low-latency applications
- Experience with large-scale distributed architectures
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS
- Experience with containerization technologies and orchestration platforms
- Familiarity with caching technologies, messaging systems, or distributed databases
- Experience working on highly available, mission-critical platforms
- Knowledge of Go (Golang) or similar modern programming languages
