Job Description A growing engineering and technology organization is seeking a
Cybersecurity Infrastructure Engineer to serve as a key technical resource responsible for securing and supporting enterprise infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments.
This role offers a unique blend of cybersecurity, systems administration, network engineering, cloud security, and end-user support. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working across multiple technology domains while helping drive security initiatives, infrastructure improvements, compliance efforts, and operational excellence throughout the organization.
You'll partner closely with IT and business stakeholders to strengthen the organization's security posture, evaluate new technologies, implement security best practices, and help ensure a secure and reliable environment for employees and business operations. Required Skills & Experience
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience required; Bachelor's degree preferred
- 4+ years of IT experience in cybersecurity, infrastructure, systems administration, or a related technical role
- Experience managing and securing network infrastructure, including firewalls, routers, switches, VPNs, and wireless environments
- Strong understanding of Active Directory and Group Policy
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365 environments
- Experience with cloud security and virtualized environments
- Knowledge of security monitoring, vulnerability management, and threat remediation
- Experience supporting end users and troubleshooting complex technical issues
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize work effectively and operate independently
Desired Skills & Experience
- Experience with Fortinet firewalls
- Experience with VMware administration and monitoring
- Experience with Veeam backup solutions
- Understanding of Data Loss Prevention (DLP) technologies
- Familiarity with Zero Trust security principles
- Knowledge of NIST 800-171, CMMC, SOC 2, or similar compliance frameworks
- ITIL Foundation Certification
- Security+, Network+, CCNA, or related certifications
What You Will Be Doing
Daily Responsibilities: 100% Hands On - Administer and secure network, server, endpoint, cloud, and data environments
- Manage firewalls, VPNs, routing, switching, network segmentation, wireless infrastructure, and content filtering technologies
- Monitor and improve security controls, policies, and operational processes
- Perform vulnerability assessments, remediation efforts, and security monitoring activities
- Support security compliance initiatives and industry-standard security frameworks
- Evaluate and implement new security technologies and infrastructure improvements
- Manage Microsoft 365 security administration and identity-related services
- Monitor on-premises, virtualized, cloud, and storage environments
- Partner with internal teams to develop and maintain security policies and procedures
- Manage relationships with technology vendors and security partners
- Conduct infrastructure security assessments and recommend improvements
- Respond to security-related support requests from local and remote employees
- Deliver end-user security education and awareness training
- Maintain documentation related to security operations, infrastructure, and procedures
- Support hardware lifecycle management, inventory controls, and technology planning
