A growing consulting and technical services organization is seeking a
Cybersecurity Operations Specialist to join its internal technology team. This role is responsible for maintaining and improving the security of a diverse enterprise environment that supports both office-based and remote operations.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on security professional who is comfortable working across infrastructure, networking, cloud platforms, compliance initiatives, and end-user support. You'll have the opportunity to contribute to both day-to-day security operations and longer-term initiatives focused on risk reduction, security maturity, and technology modernization.
This position is well suited for someone who enjoys a broad cybersecurity role and wants exposure to multiple areas of enterprise technology rather than focusing solely on one security discipline. Required Skills & Experience
- Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 4+ years of experience supporting information security programs within an enterprise environment
- Experience administering and supporting security technologies across networks, endpoints, and servers
- Working knowledge of firewalls, VPN technologies, routing, switching, and network segmentation
- Experience identifying, investigating, and remediating security vulnerabilities
- Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 administration and security controls
- Experience managing Active Directory and Group Policy environments
- Experience providing technical guidance and support to end users
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational, documentation, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to prioritize work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Desired Skills & Experience
- Experience supporting compliance frameworks such as NIST 800-171, CMMC, SOC 2, or similar standards
- Familiarity with Fortinet, Cisco, or related security and networking technologies
- Experience supporting VMware environments
- Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery platforms such as Veeam
- Understanding of Data Loss Prevention (DLP) technologies
- Familiarity with Zero Trust architecture principles
- Experience conducting security reviews of third-party applications and vendors
- Security+, Network+, CCNA, ITIL, or related certifications
What You Will Be Doing Daily Responsibilities
- Monitor and administer enterprise security systems and controls
- Support security operations across network, server, endpoint, cloud, and data environments
- Perform vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation efforts
- Investigate security alerts, threats, and suspicious activities
- Assist with implementation of new security controls and technologies
- Maintain security compliance initiatives and support audit readiness
- Partner with infrastructure teams to strengthen security standards and procedures
- Support Microsoft 365 security administration and management
- Maintain Active Directory and Group Policy configurations
- Monitor virtualization, backup, and recovery environments from a security perspective
- Review vendor and third-party solutions for security risks and compliance considerations
- Create and maintain technical documentation, policies, and procedures
- Deliver security awareness guidance and support to employees
- Evaluate new technologies and recommend improvements to the overall security posture
