We are seeking a highly experienced Hands-on Oracle DBA Manager to lead a strategic enterprise initiative to migrate mission-critical Oracle databases off Oracle Exadata onto a new target platform. This role requires a strong technical leader who will serve as both the Migration Lead and a hands-on Senior Oracle DBA, driving all phases of the migration effort from assessment and planning through execution, cutover, and post-migration support.
The ideal candidate has deep expertise in Oracle Exadata, Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and large-scale Oracle database migrations, along with proven experience coordinating cross-functional technical teams including Infrastructure, Storage, Network, Applications, Cloud, and Vendors.
This is a highly technical leadership position. The successful candidate will be expected to actively participate in database administration, migration execution, troubleshooting, and performance tuning while managing the overall migration program.
Migration Leadership
- Serve as the technical lead for the enterprise migration from Oracle Exadata.
- Develop the overall migration strategy, roadmap, and execution plan.
- Coordinate all migration activities across Database, Infrastructure, Storage, Networking, Security, Application, and Vendor teams.
- Lead migration planning sessions, technical design reviews, and readiness assessments.
- Identify migration risks, dependencies, and mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate migration schedules, testing, cutover activities, and production go-live.
- Ensure minimal downtime and business disruption throughout the migration.
- Provide regular status updates to IT leadership and project stakeholders.
Skills / Qualifications
- 10+ years of Oracle Database Administration experience.
- 5+ years leading enterprise Oracle database migration projects.
- Prior experience serving as a DBA Manager or Technical Lead while remaining hands-on.
- Strong experience coordinating complex infrastructure migration projects.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional technical teams.
