Phase 1: VMware Administration & Maintenance (Current State)
Manage, maintain, and optimize a VMware vSphere environment of ~500 servers (ESXi, vCenter).
Ensure high availability, load balancing (DRS), and fault tolerance across clusters.
Monitor system performance, capacity planning, and troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues.
Handle routine patching, upgrades, firmware updates, and security hardening of hosts and VMs.
Manage backup and disaster recovery operations (e.g., Veeam, SRM, or equivalent) to ensure zero data loss.
Phase 2: Azure Migration & Cloud Engineering (Next 2 Years)

Utilize migration tools such as Azure Migrate, Azure Site Recovery (ASR), or third-party tools to discover, assess, right-size, and migrate workloads.
Collaborate with network teams to configure ExpressRoute/VPNs, Azure Virtual Networks (VNets), NSGs, and routing.
Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or Azure Bicep/ARM templates for automated cloud deployment.
Establish cloud governance, including Azure Policies, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), and cost management/optimization strategies.
