Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Epic Orders Analyst to support, optimize, and enhance Epic Orders functionality across the enterprise. This role requires Epic Orders certification, hands-on Epic implementation experience, and strong involvement in build, testing, and go-live activities. The ideal candidate will partner closely with clinical, operational, and technical teams to ensure safe, efficient, and scalable clinical ordering workflows.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the subject matter expert for Epic Orders, including Order Transmittal, Order Sets, Preference Lists, and Clinical Decision Support.
- Design, build, configure, and maintain Epic Orders workflows in alignment with clinical and operational requirements.
- Participate in Epic implementations, optimizations, upgrades, and enhancements, including system planning and design sessions.
- Collaborate with clinicians, stakeholders, and IT partners to gather requirements and translate them into Epic build solutions.
- Develop and maintain test scripts, execute unit, integrated, and user acceptance testing (UAT), and support end-to-end testing cycles.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve build issues, defects, and workflow gaps.
- Support go-live and post-go-live stabilization, including on-call or at-the-elbow support as needed.
- Ensure Epic build adheres to organizational standards, regulatory requirements, and Epic best practices.
- Maintain accurate documentation for workflows, configuration, and change management.
- Participate in change control, release management, and system governance processes.
- Work closely with downstream and upstream teams (e.g., ClinDoc, Pharmacy, Radiant, Beaker, Willow, Interface, and Reporting teams).
Required Qualifications- Epic Orders Certification (active and current).
- 3+ years of Epic Orders analyst experience, including at least one full Epic implementation.
- Demonstrated experience with:
- Epic Orders build and maintenance
- Clinical workflows and provider ordering processes
- Test planning, execution, and defect resolution
- Strong understanding of order sets, preference lists, clinical decision support, and order routing.
- Experience supporting testing phases, including UAT and integrated testing.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with clinical, technical, and operational stakeholders.
- Experience working in healthcare environments (hospital, health system, or ambulatory settings).
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications- Experience with Epic Inpatient modules
- Experience with Epic upgrades, point releases, or optimization initiatives.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulatory and patient safety standards.
- Prior experience supportinggo-live eventsand post-implementation stabilization.
- Certification or experience in additional Epic modules.
- Experience working in large, complex health systems.
