AI Application Developer / Python Engineer

Location: Hybrid

Onsite Requirement: 3 days per week

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced AI Application Developer / Python Engineer to support an internal portal platform initiative focused on improving how developers discover, onboard, and integrate with common enterprise capabilities. This role will help build AI-enabled solutions that allow capability consumers to find and onboard to shared services, while also enabling capability producers to register and manage their offerings.

The ideal candidate will have strong Python development experience, hands-on experience with LLMs and prompt engineering, and practical knowledge of Azure OpenAI, agentic systems, APIs, and cloud-based application delivery.
Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including daily standups, sprint planning, refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Work with product owners, architects, and engineering teams to understand requirements and refine user stories.
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy AI-enabled application features for internal portal platforms.
  • Build solutions using Python, LLMs, prompt engineering, Azure OpenAI SDKs/APIs, and related AI technologies.
  • Develop and integrate REST APIs to support application functionality and platform capabilities.
  • Support the implementation of agentic systems and Model Context Protocol concepts where applicable.
  • Create scalable, maintainable code aligned to enterprise development standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues, validate functionality, and support deployments.
  • Contribute to technical design discussions, code reviews, and continuous improvement of the platform.
  • Help ensure AI solutions are built with appropriate security, compliance, and reliability considerations.
Required Qualifications
  • Strong proficiency in Python.
  • Hands-on experience working with large language models (LLMs) and prompt engineering.
  • Experience with Azure OpenAI SDKs, APIs, and deployment strategies.
  • Knowledge of agentic systems and Model Context Protocol (MCP).
  • Experience with cloud integration, REST APIs, and containerization tools such as Docker and/or Kubernetes.
  • Ability to design, develop, test, and deploy application features in an Agile environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience developing enterprise AI applications.
  • Experience with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
  • Understanding of vector databases and data pipelines.
  • Knowledge of security and compliance considerations related to AI systems.
  • Experience supporting internal developer platforms or self-service technology portals.
Interview Process
  • 1-2 interview rounds.
  • Video interview conducted through a team meeting format.
  • Interviews will be primarily technical, with approximately 10% real-time draft coding.
